"Sovereign Citizen" Gaining Negative Notoriety

Since 2010 I have personally studied the "sovereign citizen" aka Freeman on the Land ("FMOTL") movement and what their aspirations are. The majority of these individuals are primarily located throughout Canada, the United States, England, and Australia. I have come to acknowledge that this loosely organized and growing faction considers themselves an expression of the "peace movement," however; it is quickly coming to light that their philosophy on how to handle conflict is opposite.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation ("FBI") has become increasingly concerned over this movement as the individuals affiliated with it take to some extreme measures. These measures range from clogging up the courts with frivolous claims to waging armed conflict with police officers at traffic stops. The FBI has labeled this group as "domestic terrorists" and a very recent reason for this is the Las Vegas undercover operation busting a couple for conspiring to terminate local police officers at a residential location rigged to secure and torture them.

The reason this movement has gained in numbers by serious leaps and bounds over the previous years is because of mass disenfranchisement with all levels of government. The people simply believe that government is interested in self-preservation and does not work for the betterment of mankind. An overwhelming majority of people living in the United States do not agree with the wars overseas, they feel they are being perpetually indebted to a system they do not agree with, and they will continue their efforts to seek what appears to them to be evidence the United States and other jurisdictions operate "unlawfully." They believe in a "volunteer consented" system where they can arbitrarily abscond themselves from said jurisdictions and government systems. At this rate, we should expect that they are so ingratiated in their ways, that they will put their live's on the line for their beliefs. Ultimately, we are looking at the possibility of a guerilla-type civil war where Martial Law will be fully enacted on all commoners to quash the movement.
