U.N. Urges Obama to Rollback MJ Legalization

In the States of Colorado and Washington voters passed the legalization of the recreational use of marijuana on Election Day 2012. 15 years prior, California passed Proposition 215 (Compassionate Use Act) in 1996 to allow for certain medical patients to consume marijuana as an aid to their illnesses and pains. California Senate Bill 420 passed 8 years thereafter outlining legal guidance for the use of it so that patients wouldn't "abuse it."

President of the United Nations International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), Raymond Yans, is now formally requesting that President Obama and U.S. Attorney, Eric Holder, rectify the gross legal differences between U.S. federal law and Colorado/Washington State Law on marijuana and keep the substance both illegal to possess and use. This has obviously struck a cord with U.S. Citizens who feel that their "democratic government" is being threatened by the "UN-American" international organization, but why does this come as a surprise?

If Americans recall Dyett vs Turner (Utah Supreme Court, 1968), the court acknowledged the changes at the United States Supreme Court level and determined "the sovereignty of the states is practically abolished, and the erstwhile free and independent states are now in effect and purpose merely closely supervised units in a federal system." What does this mean to Americans? It means States don't have the same level of rights as the federal government, let alone international organization, and unfortunately there is nothing a bonded citizen/subject can do to change a government they do not own. The United States conceded to the United Nations when it became a full and permanent member in 1945.

  1. Ironic isn't it? Liberals who are usually Pro-UN and Anti-USA are also usually Pro-MJ. \;0)

  2. Many liberals do not understand government and law just as many other do not. They want freedom beyond the scope of which their capacity as a citizen allows them.
