Pope Looks to Cardinals for Successor

Pope Benedict XVI sure seems to be very busy these days. Just a few days ago he announced the errors of the "Christian Calendar." He also announced the release of a new book where Jesus challenges Christian tradition. Today, he promoted 6 church leaders to cardinals and 1 of these men to an elite group who will be given the responsibility of voting in the new successor to the throne of the Roman Catholic Church.

Pope Benedict 16th is 85 years of age and none of the promoted cardinals are over the age of 80. None of them are from Europe either. Benedict was elected to his position in 2005 and has been rumored to have a lot of health problems, the most recent being a broken wrist while on vacation in the Alps in 2009. The break was reported as minor.

The name rumored to be given to the next Pope is "Petrus Romanus" or "Peter of Rome." This Pope was "prophesied" by Saint Malachy of the 12th century to be the final Pope before the destruction of the City of Rome.
