ICC Prosecutor to Examine Israel for Alleged War Crimes

This post is not for or against the State of Israel or for or against the State of Palestine. This post is for the Right of Self-Determination and an objective investigation into allegations just as any Right to international due process is concerned.

The International Criminal Court ("ICC") at The Hague in the Netherlands has issued an investigation into possible war crimes commissioned by the State of Israel against Palestinians. Indeed, the United States has come to the plate to defend the State of Israel during this time, but that is how any strongly allied cooperation among states should stand.

According to "The principle of equal rights and self determination among peoples" as described in the United Nations General Assembly Resolution No.2625, "all peoples have the right freely to determine...their political status." The only way this can be construed is that even if Palestine failed to obtain the proper number of votes to become a state "de jure" by the United Nations, they have long maintained a de facto status of government and are thus a self-recognized statehood. For the fact that they even received 8 votes of recognition by other "de jure" states this previous December 2014, they are as legitimate as any other member-state of the U.N. regardless of their political status ("state-us") at the U.N.

Moving on, the mere fact that the ICC has decided to pursue an international investigation for alleged war crimes committed by Israel against "Palestinians" recognizes that there are members of a Palestinian state. Let us hope that due process can be satisfied and may justice be served whether Israel face reparations or be dismissed entirely.
