For millions of U.S. Citizens, today is a day to exercise their "pay-triotic" duty of "political choice," so many will flock to the voting booths to cast their ballots. Some will vote to extend the time of the current incumbent and others will vote in a new face, but will anything change?
Four years ago President, George W. Bush, was the laughing stock of the political arena. He propped up two different wars, increased the National Deficit, and left the economy in shambles. Four years later, we still have troops or paramilitary in these same conflicts, the National Deficit has increased by a third and many of the companies authorized by President Obama to receive tax dollars to stay afloat are now bankrupt. Today, we have republican nominee and Governor, Mitt Romney, running up against Obama as the Republican contender for the White House.
Before the general election many people were supportive of Congressman Ron Paul and although Paul was seen as "the people's choice" by proponents of the libertarian ideology, the news media blatantly ignored him and few acknowledged his presence. Drew Griffin from CNN told his field reporter to "get video of Sarah Palin or get a soundbite of her. You can hold that Ron Paul stuff." Fox News would only talk about its "top-tier" at a time when Paul made the "top-tier," but was indicated as the weakest contender in the race. (The Daily Show version of this show has been taken down.)
The bottom-line here is that even the candidate seemingly most of the people really wanted and that you can probably see posted all over the government and political videos online, Romney and Obama are the only two faces that the media establishment credits as most "worthy" to vote for. Paul was such a threat to "the establishment" that government officials in and around the United States harassed owners of vehicles and homes for having posted Ron Paul signs.
Even if you did "write-in" your favorite candidate, there is no immunity at the voting booths from "voter fraud" as what you can see from a programmer who worked for the Bush campaign of 2000. If you have paid any attention since the 2008 presidential election, multiple reports exposed rampant voter fraud.
"Presidents are selected; not elected." -- former President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
