Donald Trump vs President Obama

If you have paid any attention to the airwaves the last two week coming out of the media you may have heard about Trump's "big announcement about Obama." The announcement was that if Obama released his college transcript and passport application documents, Trump would have "gladly" written a check in the order of $5 million to a charity of Obama's choice, or "even substantially more." The 24 hours leading up to the announcement, the media was already personally chastising Trump for his historical pattern of questioning Obama's transparency while in the White House. Trump had extended his offer to Obama from 5PM EDT on October 31st to 12PM on November 1st because of Hurricane Sandy.

But, wait! Didn't Obama promise "transparency like no other administration in history" not once, not twice, but three times during his presidential campaign? In a previous blog, it was mentioned that Jon Stewart from The Daily Show exposed Obama for making transparency promises during his election campaign, but proving otherwise over the first two years of Obama's term. On the day of Trump's announcement; however, Jon Stewart seemingly back-peddaled to join the rest of the media's "blanket party" and chimed in about his personal take on the "Trump announcement." Does this strike no one else as odd?

Yes, the Birther issue is quite old and has been beaten the entire duration of Obama's term. Some argue that it is just the racist white Americans begging the question because Obama is "the first black President" while others just want to know more about the eloquent man whom legally re-presents them on Capitol Hill.

The online organization known as FactCheck.org denies that Obama's records are "sealed" under the legal term. While this is certainly true, the bottom-line to the issue at hand is that President Obama has made this information "privileged" and has ultimately "sealed" it off from public disclosure by using Executive Privilege, which requires his direct authorization and consent to disclose his personal information via Presidential Executive Order No.13489 titled "Presidential Documents." What is sad is the only time Obama relented to public curiosity about his past, he called the curiosity "silly and a waste of time" when he announced the release of his Birth Certificate in April of 2011.

Again, any 5-year old can make personal jabs and senseless jokes at somebody's character or the way they look. It takes a sense of maturity to get passed the book cover and actually read the situation as described above without automatically subscribing to an idea because it is popular.
