(Shutdown Notice) |
It seems to be a regular, annual tradition now. The federal government issues memorandums to it's employees, the country gets upset about services being shutdown while government workers gripe about being out of work, pressure is mounted on Congress so that they don't "look bad," they pass a new fiscal budget within days of a new fiscal year. Of course, it is happening again this year 2013 just like clockwork.
If you did not already know, there are already some U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) employees/contractors who have not been paid since mid-2012, but who are still on orders to "standby." We can only imagine how much is owed to them now. This said, there is next to nothing the common people can do about this situation if and when it does occur. Indeed, there will be workers and their families enduring financial hardships because of this, but with the U.S. government operating in the "red" as it has been, this was bound to occur sooner or later.
