Petraeus Private Hearing & Clinton Refuses Testimony

Four people were killed in a "terrorist attack" on a U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya including a U.S. Ambassador and a Navy SEAL on 11 September this year. After conflicting reports from eyewitnesses in Benghazi to that of the U.S. media and government, President Obama has been quick to decline further comment than the official story and now Congress is demanding answers from those were "in-charge."

Former CIA Director, David Petraeus, was head of the organization until he resigned 9 November over a widely-publicized and scandalous affair he had with his biographer, Paula Broadwell. Since it is well-known that the CIA had an active role in Libya, Petraeus has been urged to testify along with U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, about the events surrounding the attack. While Clinton declined to testify, Petraeus has chosen to do so only under private circumstances.

This might remind you of former President Bush and his Vice President, Richard Cheney, after 11 September 2001. Both Bush and Cheney would only comment behind closed doors without recording devices, not under oath, and only with the other in the room. They both refused to testify about 9/11 and invoked "executive privilege" as their justification for not answering to the 9/11 Commission panel. Former National Security Advisor, Condoleezza Rice, was not immune from testimony and was required to testify. She pulled the "amnesia" card during the testimony. We may not ever know what was said in the close hearing.
